Waive rights to view rec letter? [#permalink] 22 Dec 2015, 10:34
I didn't waive my rights for one of my applications. Does it matter?
I read some old threads, near 6-8 years old. Some say it does and some (and my consultant) say it doesn't.
Anyone else didn't waive their rights?

i would ever waive your right to view your recc, there's no upside in not waiving and some potential negative past not waiving since it may signal some mistrust and the potential for gaming the process

I meant to waive the right to my recommendations just I did not. I have a very shut working relationship with my recommenders and both voluntarily sent me the concluding version of their recommendation after they submit. So in essence, information technology seemed quack for me to say that I would waive the right to run across information technology when I saw it anyway. I overthought the situation. I hope this choice is not given besides much weight in the admissions process.

well, since I can't alter that, and the letters has been submitted, I am done worrying about it.
Nevertheless, if the adcom is indeed taking a holistic view of the applicant profile as they say they will, I doubt it will have any real touch in the last result.
I don't think it's a potential to game the system, since they won't show the rec letter unless you are admitted to the program. Merely ppl won't intendance to run across the alphabetic character if they are already admitted. The whole affair is a just legal situation that they take to ask, and not a way to flim-flam u.s.a. in my opinion. Wharton fifty-fifty said they won't release the letter under whatsoever circumstance. So... I judge some schoolhouse cares some don't... I am done...

From an application perspective, information technology probably doesn't matter much. However, if I were a recommender and I saw the person I was recommending didn't waive the right, I would exist kind of irritated. Merely seems to exist a indicate of mistrust.
I waived all of mine.

I guess I would enquire you lot why would y'all not want to waive your rights? Once the alphabetic character of recommendation has been submitted, at that place is no pulling it back. Then even if y'all saw it and didn't similar it, you couldn't do anything with the school to arrive better. Sure, you could talk with your recommender, but what would that practise for yous? Peradventure but fracture a relationship. So what value does seeing the letter of the alphabet afterwards it is submitted agree for you other than to "know" what is said?

Hey Guys,
I just added my recommender a few mins back and I didn't waive my correct.
If I delete and add the same recommender over again, will that assistance? Can I and so alter information technology?

I would give it a try, nothing actually to lose here if y'all tin can't alter since you already waived. This approach may allow yous to right it, so give it a effort
